Because of two reasons, the sun never rises exactly from the east always. In fact, if you are staying between the topic of cancer and topic of capricorn would the sun actually rise exactly from the east; and that too only on two days per year!

Now what are the two reasons why the sunrise changes its direction everyday? And why do the people north of the tropic of cancer (and south of the capricorn) never can see a sunrise from the exact east?
